Headshots with Reba

After a dreary winter, it was my pleasure to get back to some outdoor photo sessions. I recently had the pleasure of photographing headshots for Reba. Reba is a talented and dynamic individual who was a joy to work with. We met at a local working share space in downtown Towson, Maryland.

I knew that February would not be the best time of year for outdoor portraits, but I was determined to make the best of it. I wanted to capture Reba's personality and professionalism, and I felt that the working share space would be the perfect backdrop.

I was initially worried that the lack of trees and colors would make the photos look drab, but I was pleasantly surprised with how they turned out. The neutral colors of the working share space actually helped to accentuate Reba's features.

I also took advantage of the beautiful agriculture in downtown Towson. The photos of Reba standing by the pillars of the Baltimore County Government building were my favorite.

I am so happy with how the photos turned out. Reba was a natural in front of the camera, and I was able to capture her essence. I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with her.

Tips for Photographing Headshots

Here are a few tips for photographing headshots:

  • Choose the right location. The location of your headshot can make a big difference in the overall look and feel of the photo. I recommend choosing a location that is both flattering to your subject and representative of their personality.

  • Use off camera flash. Balancing ambient light with off-camera flash is a crucial technique for creating stunning portraits. It allows you to control the light and create a variety of effects.

  • Keep the background simple. A simple background will help to keep the focus on your subject.

  • Pay attention to your subject's posing. The way your subject poses can make a big difference in how the photo looks. Be sure to give them some direction and help them to relax in front of the camera.

  • Take plenty of photos. The more photos you take, the better your chances of getting a great one.

I hope these tips help you to take some stunning headshots!
